The four linear feet of the Stanley Fuller Bailey Papers spans the years 1940-1951. However, the papers lack materials from 1944-1945 while Bailey was serving in the U.S. Navy. The majority of the papers contain correspondence to researchers and growers regarding the control of crop pests. Stanley Fuller Bailey was born August 1, 1906 in Middleboro, Massachusetts. He graduated with a degree in Entomology from the University of Massachusetts in 1929 and received a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1931. He joined the staff of the University of California, Davis as a junior Entomologist and over a period of thirty-six years advanced to full professor.
